Patterned Shoes

At the moment we are learning to make patterns out of objects we have already made or found off the Internet. I made these two shoes.

The first one I made with my shiny hearts. I made three in a row then made them a pattern. I had to outline the shoe with the bezier tool.

The second one, my converse, I made with my fat penguin. I did the same with my converse that I did with my Vans.

At the beginning I found it hard because I tryed to make it a pattern and it wouldn't work. But as I practised and kept trying I eventually got the hang of it. Now I am making Vans and Converse.

My Fat Penguin

My Fat Penguin, originally uploaded by Sophie C 2009.

This is my EXTREMELY fat penguin! He looks a little different because I made him from scratch. I looked at one that had already been done but apart from that I did everything myself. The hardest part for me was the arms because they are actually triangles that have been rounded. It was hard and frustrating because sometimes the triangle would be too round and hen it would be too pointy. Eventually I got their and I now have an extremely fat penguin that I am very happy with!!

My Turtle

My Turtle, originally uploaded by Sophie C 2009.

I made this turtle with the Bezier tool. The Bezier tool is almost like a pen. I traced this from an image. I did it by doing the largest item first which would be the back part/ the shell. The added the head and four arms. I made a yellow part and placed that on the top. I didn't actually make the eyes, I imported them from a file in Mr Muntwyler's folder! First of all it was quite tricky but then as we practised it became much easier.

Fuzzy Blob

Fuzzy Blob, originally uploaded by Sophie C 2009.

This is probably one of my favourite creations. I like it because I think it is very cute and fuzzy! This was also probably the most simplest ones I have done so far. All it is, is a couple of circles and blurring them, then I used the Bezier tool to do the antennas. But overall it was quite simple.

I made this then played around with it to make it my own. Instead of doing spikes for the hair I used the blur tool. I think he is very cute!
